In doubt about the right stick length? No problem at all! The size chart below can be used as a guideline for choosing the right field hockey stick.
The length of a stick is especially important for children. With a stick which is too long it is very difficult to master the technique. With a stick that is too short, the striking power is reduced and there is a big chance that you take the wrong position.
In the table below you can find the length of the stick in relation to the length of a child. The stick lengths are indicated in inches.

If you are still unsure about the length of your stick, you can use the methods below to find out the ideal stick length.The most common length for seniors is 36.5 inches, or 92 centimeters. If despite the right posture you still regularly suffer from back pain, a longer stick may be the solution.
Measuring the right stick size:
- Stand up straight
- Place the stick from the ground straight along your body
- From the ground, the stick absolutely must not rise above your navel. A few centimeters below your navel is no problem.
